"Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal." - Henry Ford

Well said Henry or if we're going to get all formal - Mr. Ford.  I have mad respect for Mr. Ford and his revolutionary work in the automotive and mass production areas.  I'm not going to get into his association with Hitler or Nazis or his personal hatred towards certain people - those things I am not in approval of but in the grand scheme of things my opinion on Ford's opinions is irrelevant.  For the sake of this post, let's stick to Ford's quote and his status as an industry giant.

The idea here is that to succeed, you can never take your eyes off the prize.  I have to somewhat disagree with Ford in some aspects of this quote.  The thing is, there is never, ever a clear and easy path to success.  There are always going to be obstacles.  You have to accept them for what they are and figure out a way to work through them.

If you spend your life trying to figure out the easiest path to your goal then you will never get started.  Set a goal, set a plan to reach it and then as you encounter unexpected obstacles, say screw it about your plan and just do the best you can.  Be adaptable.
