Mystery Unfolds in Shadyside, PA, in New Middle Grade Detective Novel, Zoe Lucky and the Mystery of the Pink Pearl Necklace.
Tampa, FL – When Zoe Lucky and her friends take up detective work, they find themselves enmeshed in a violent case with an intriguing clue and multiple suspects including Zoe's dad. Zoe is relieved to have an old friend, Detective Tracy, of the Oakland Police working on the case.
Zoe Lucky is a redheaded, freckle-faced seventh grader at the Winston-Thurston School in Shadyside, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh. However, this 13-year-old is no typical teen.
Zoe, Jazz and Ginger form a sleuth group named ZINGERZ. They have already solved two problems at school. But when Jazz's mother disappears in the middle of a vicious crime, ZINGERZ shifts into 'high gear' to focus on this serious matter. A bloodied pink pearl necklace, one of the main pieces of evidence, was found at the scene of the crime and it leads them on a series of adventures through numerous areas of Pittsburgh (Mount Washington, the North Side, the South Side, Oakland, Kennywood Park and Shadyside.)
Young readers are invited to join Zoe Lucky and her constant companion – Paki, a plucky African gray parrot that speaks both Swahili and English – as they come face to face with danger and try to solve a multicultural mystery. A final, shocking revelation sweetens, deepens and complicates the lives of Zoe and her friends, bringing them closer than ever.
