What is getting in the way of writing that story?
Is it all the time you spend in the library/bookstore picking and choosing what the next creative writing self-help book you are going to spend your time behind?
I probably could have written a score of novels in the time I spent reading “how to write a novel” kind of books.
And with the internet…it is easy to never begin (or finish) that novel because of all the self-help sites and YouTube videos you are watching.
Do you really want to write something? Then quit reading about how to write it and just start writing. And then write on it every day. Don’t let your inner critic tell you how shitty it is. No one is going to read it right now anyway. The important thing is to get it out of you first. Then and only then should you start tackling the ‘grammar funks’ and ‘plot issues’ and ‘character disorders’ that may exist.
