Site Review: Cracked.com

By William G. Muir
Are you looking for something to do while you are suppose to be working? Are you sitting at computer thinking that you would rather be doing anything than staring at another spreadsheet? Well my friend do I have the perfect way for you to be more productive at work. First thing you need to do is checkout is Bite My Book, leave a comment and make sure visit our Ultimate Fun page. There you will find a chance to win a prize. After doing all that you should head on over to Cracked.com. Trust me you will not be disappointed.
For those of you who have never been over to Cracked.com where have you been? Cracked.com is the most popular humor site on the internet. With over 300 million views a month, Cracked.com is easily more popular than other humor sites such as The Onion, CollegeHumor and Funny Or Die.

Enough of that boring stuff, why should you be spending your valuable time over at Cracked.com? If you really wanted to waste that time you could be doing something as boring as your actual job. But why would you want to work when there is so much on web that you have yet to explore? So why should you be viewing Cracked.com while your boss is paying you? I'll tell you why, because it is freaking hilarious. It is easily the funniest site I have ever come across.

So what the big deal, what is it that makes it so funny? Well for those of you old enough to remember it, Cracked.com is the online version of the now defunct humor magazine Cracked. Cracked was easily the number two humor magazine of the latter part of the 20th century, just behind Mad magazine. This was probably due to the fact that Cracked copied Mad's format. This is the legacy that Cracked.com carries on to this day.

If I lean close enough to the monitor on my laptop I can hear you all asking what it is you will find when you click on Cracked.com. Well let me answer that question with another question. What won't you find at Cracked.com? One of the biggest things on Cracked.com arethe countdown  list. The American public seems to love a good countdown list (they seemed to be VH1's bread and butter in 2000's.) These list cover a wide range of topics, from what strange things the Japanese are up to, things that are popularly believed but not true, to weird things having to do with science.

Allow me to add my two cents here. From what I do know of science I think that Cracked.com does a very poor job in this area. But that is only to be expected, they are comedy writers and not scientist. What you are clicking on Cracked.com is to get some laughs, not to learn a science lesson. But do take their science articles with a grain of salt.

Cracked.com also host a number of original web series as well. The longest running web show on the site is Agents of Cracked. It much like the Odd Couple if Felix and Oscar worked for a comedy website. Along with the Agents of Cracked there is After Hours. After Hours is a debate show were staff writers take on such topics as comics, movies, television commercials and much more. Other shows include Stuff that Must Have Happened, Does Not Compute, and The Katie Willert Experience.

So if you are looking to brighten up your dreary work day with a few laughs. Head on over to Cracked.com. You are bound to find something that will put a smile on your face. And don't worry there is plenty of content to fill your day with. So remember click on Bite My Book for a chance to win yourself a prize. Then head on over to Cracked.com, sit back and have a few laughs. You know you deserve it.
